First and foremost, put this on while you read. Siiick Static Groove - Phunk It Mix Vol. 1

Next Friday, March 2, at The Dry Dock in Newburgh, NY, Static Groove will be headlining Upstate Productions, We <3 Electronic Music, show! Eeek! I'm listening to the Phunk it mix, that you should be listening to right now (see link above), as I write this and I'm so excited for this show. Static Groove have been blowing up lately all over. Their track 'Freaky', which there's a preview of on their soundcloud, was dropped by DJ Prophet at the 1/12/12 AVICII show in Rochester and Trev$Munz at the 2/12 Rusko show in Albany. And if you caught Run DMT playing any Sundance after parties you probably heard their track 'Chocolate Sex Panther', no, not inspired by me and also, not on their soundcloud so hold tight for that one. What follows is a little background on Static Groove from one of the duo, Morgan, DJ, Producer, and avid supporter of unicorn sex.

                          *******************************************************

Cannedass: So, Who are Static Groove and what do you do respectively?  Is one or the other more DJ than producer or vice versa? How did you meet and start playing together?

Morgan: Static Groove consists of Morgan Mifsud and Mike McAllister. We produce EDM music and perform it live for our fans. We both perform and both Dj at the shows making us a double threat. Mike is two years older than I am. His younger brother, one of my best friends, introduced me to Mike. I was Djing and he was producing so we teamed up!

Cannedass: Do you guys argue like siblings or is this an infallible dynamic duo?

Morgan: We both get along very well. Sometimes we butt heads on the buisness aspect of what we should be doing and what direction we should be going in, but we always come to a happy median. When it comes to music production and shows we both work very well together barley arguing in that aspect.

Cannedass: What keeps you motivated?

Morgan: the fans are what makes all this worth it. Seeing people rock out to our own tracks is what makes us really happy. Seeing peoples faces at the drops to our tracks puts a great feeling inside us. We love producing music and we love that people actually like our sound and like what we are doing.

Cannedass: And finally James Lipton’s 10 questions from ‘Inside the Actors Studio’ 1. What is your favorite word?

Morgan: Unicorn Sex

Cannedass: 2. What is your least favorite word?

Morgan: Country Jam

Cannedass: 3. What turns you on?

Morgan: Unicorns having sex
