These
are the words that mark Alpha Data’s information page. However, I
doubt no one is not singing or dancing along to his beats.
So,
who is Alpha Data? Just your typical law student meets DJ. Wait,
what? Yes. That’s right. Alpha Data, or James Ristvedt is a law
student by day who balances his alter ego in the dirty electronic
beats he makes by night. Listening to his tracks, I was surprised to
find myself jamming writing this blog and having flash backs of
Excision-like sounds mixed with a little Glitch Mob.
Alpha
Data, emerging just a year ago, has delivered glitch-hop originals
and remixes that carried his first debut,
Nefertiti,
to #1 on Beatports’ Glitch Hop list and #50 on their all genre
list. His fast break into the EDM scene has landed him at national
shows, opening for The Disco Biscuits and sharing the stage with
names including, Flux Pavillion and Shpongle.
F.O.E
Music Fest adds to his increasing list of festivals and shows and his
momentum in the scene doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
