BoomBox

We’re so excited about the second annual Freedom of Expression Music Festival happening August 3rd-5th, and we’re keeping the moment going right up til the fest with special artist feature articles! Next up, BoomBox.

Alabama Natives Russ Randolph and Zion Rock Gaudchaux have been producing music together as BoomBox since 2004. The duo crosses genre lines between jam music and electronic flawlessly, earning them spots at some of the country’s largest music festivals such as Moe and Umphreys Mcgee’s Summer Camp and this year’s 11th annual Jam Cruise alongside Big Gigantic and Lettuce. Technically speaking, the band refuses to label their music as anything but rock n roll but the unique sound they produce mixes in elements of house, backbeat, psychedelic, and rhythm and blues.

The thing that keeps fans wanting more from this quickly rising pair is the fact that every show is unique, featuring completely live music “It’s all natural, it’s all in real time, and that’s why it’s Rock ‘n’ Roll”, says Godchaux. Be sure to check out all their releases here and both full length albums as we work our way towards FOE 2
